Tibetan Spaniel Appearance

The Tibetan Spaniel is a neat dog, with an “apelike” expression. Their strong body is slightly longer than it is tall. The head is small in proportion to its body. The Tibetan Spaniel is often mistaken for the Pekingese. The dark brown eyes are set well apart, oval in shape and medium in size. The blunt muzzle is medium length without any wrinkles with a slight but defined stop. The tail is high set plumed and carried over their back. They can move fairly quickly.

The Tibetan Spaniel has a medium length double coat that allows all colors and mixtures but golden red is the most common, white is allowed on feet. The weight of the Tibetan Spaniel is around 9-15 pounds and the height is around 10 inches.

The Tibetan Spaniel is brave, vigilant and cautious with strangers. This breed gets along well with dogs and other animals. They are excellent family companion, very independent and a good watchdog. Their natural instinctive ability makes them an excellent home protector by warning their owners of someone or something on their property. This breed is confident, active, and alert. It has a happy attitude and enjoys taking a nap next to its special person.
