Sporting Group Dog Breeds


There are more than forty breeds in the Sporting Group worldwide. But, The American Kennel Club only recognizes twenty eight breeds. These energetic dogs were bred for hunting purposes and thus have a need for daily, vigorous physical and mental exercise to stay healthy, happy, and be perfect companions. This breed works with the hunter to extend the hunterís abilities by locating, moving, or bringing back birds. They are characterized by their responsive natures and high degree of intelligence. The group is basically composing of pointers, retrievers, setters and spanielís breeds.
