Generally a small size dog breed is considered to weigh less than 22lbs or be shorter than 16 inches. Small size dog breeds are the ultimate companions in small packages. Though they may appear small, most of these small size dog breeds have great personalities to make up for what they lack in stature! They tend to be bundles of energy, and surprisingly, many serve as excellent watch dogs because of their alertness. Every small dog breed can be trained to learn commands; however, some breeds learn those commands a lot faster than others.
