Tips for Dog owners
Dogs can get excited when they are playing, get a little carried away, and bite. Play calmly with your dog. If a dog is during play time, you should address this with an adult immediately. Biting behavior should be addressed with the aid of a trainer or animal behavioralist as soon as possible.
Understand that quick movements and loud noises may scare your dog, and it may bite for self- protection. To avoid this, keep the noise level down. And never approach a dog by reaching toward its face or mouth. Do not pull food or toys out of a dog mouth.
Dogs are territorial, so introduce the new dog to your established dog in a place neither one has been. Each dog should be on a leash handled by a separate person. Allow the dog’s time to sniff each other for short periods of time, and reward them with treats and encouraging words.
It is normal for dogs to bark at times, but too much barking indicates a problem. Make sure you don’t leave your dog alone for long periods of time. When you can’t be around, provide a comfortable environment with toys.

What to Do If Your Dog Is Poisoned
If your pet is poisoned, alert an adult and call your vet or the Animal Poison Control Center immediately. The faster your pet is treated, the better the chances of making a full recovery. Bring the product container with you to help the vets know what they are treating.

It is not unusual for pet owners to permit their pets to sleep with them at night. In deed, one third of pet owners have at some point, permitted their pets to sleep on their beds. Dogs provide a companionship that can't be given by any other breed of animal. But this doesn't mean to say that it is unlikely for some people to let their cats and another pets sleep with them too. It is facilitated too by dogs having a sleep pattern which is rather similar to our own. Dogs often have complete trust in their owners, which makes them a lot more relaxed during the night. This goes a long way to explaining why most dogs fall asleep easily and even go into a deep sleep where REM sleep activities can occur. In fact, once a dog goes into this phase, the owner often needs to call them several times before they can be roused from sleep completely. I'm sure, many of us have already witnessed a dog paddling during sleep or at times, barking with his eyes closed. These dogs are believed to be dreaming. Breathing patterns can also be observed among dogs. For example, there are breeds which breathe more heavily while there are those who breathe very lightly. The heavy breathers are much more prone to snoring than those who do not breathe as heavily. Some people find that dogs that snore are rather a nuisance during the night, depending on the degree and frequency of the phenomenon. Like with humans, there are various reasons why dogs snore, although most have to do with the blocking of the passage of air in the windpipe, which in turn is caused by the collapse of certain areas along the throat. It is the same problem as with human beings. A dog that snores very badly ought to be checked for various issues to determine which treatment can be best provided. Some dogs are especially prone to some allergic reactions that cause constriction in the airway. It may also be that there is some excess tissue in the areas that are inhibiting correct breathing. It is best if a veterinarian checks on different factors through careful evaluation of the dog's anatomical features and general physical symptoms. Maybe, your dog is overweight. Like with humans, obese dogs are more likely to snore during the night. This is because they have more flesh surrounding their throats. Therefore, they have excess tissue that hangs around the throat which can potentially cause the obstructions. Once this problem is corrected, the risk of snoring will be decreased. This would not only be healthy for your dogs, you may actually enjoy nights of restful sleep too. The facial features of the dog in general affect the amount of snoring too. For example, some dogs have squashed faces which narrows their nasal passages to a greater or lesser degree. The construction of their nasal passages also largely contributes to their problems in breathing. They are very much like humans with a cold, who have to breathe using only twenty-five percent of their nostril capacity. Dog breeds with shorter faces need to expend lots of effort to breathe properly. It costs them more effort to breathe and they are also more likely to snore loudly. Minor surgery can afford your dog great relief. Be sure though that, before any decision is made, you are well educated about the potential risks and consequences of surgery to stop a dog snoring. Most procedures are irreversible, so careful thought must be given to any operation you allow. In fact, it is best to follow the guidelines offered by your veterinary surgeon. If not correctly taken care of, dog bites can be one of the most hazardous of all animal bites. Thousands of people pass-away every year because of rabies from dog bites. Many victims of animal bites have the tendency to dismiss the seriousness of such wounds because they think that they are not dangerous and can be treated with simple hand washing the wound or by just taking antibiotics. What they are unaware of is, this type of bite can lead to life-threatening infections, disability, deformity or even death. You can escape from an attacking dog through several means. Keeping a safe distance between the canine and yourself is the best way. Another effective way is to avoid provoking the dog to attack you. If you encounter such a scenario, slowly retreat and move away from the animal. However, there may come a time when you will find yourself in this scenario, no matter how careful you are. This is where the dog pepper spray comes into action. A dog pepper spray is an animal repellent used specifically against an aggressive dog. It is packaged in a canister which you can carry in your handbag, purse, or briefcase. For more convenience you can even fasten it to your belt or key chain. Such pepper sprays have numerous advantages. Its effect is instant once you spray it on the dog. The effects are long enough to allow you to get away to a safe place. Because the pepper spray will cause so much discomfort and hurting, the dog will shift his attention from you to coping with the pain. If you are an animal enthusiast, you need not be concerned because the compound will not cause serious harm to the creature. The effects will eventually disappear, usually within half an hour. Another reason why these animal repellents are well-liked is because dog pepper spray is legal to carry and use anywhere in the U.S. when used as a self defense tool. Always check with your local law enforcement regarding pepper spray because there may be restrictions in some areas. What is the difference between human pepper spray and dog pepper spray? The pepper resins in dog pepper spray are not as strong as the ones in the human edition. The amount of pepper resin present in this type dog repellent is typically less than half of the pepper resin in human spray. In case of a crisis, you could use human grade pepper spray to stop a dog attack but not a dog grade pepper spray on attacking villains because it will be ineffective. Although you may be a dog enthusiast, you may still need certain defense from these animals that try to attack you. By nature, all animals are unpredictable, so never underestimate a dog's capacity to injure you. Carrying a dog pepper spray is one effectual and animal-friendly approach to protect yourself and your family from possible dog attacks. Dogs are awesome pets, of course, but they can definitely be quite difficult at times which is why so many dog owners are turning to the SitStayFetch Online DIY Dog Training Guide to learn how to train their dogs to be well behaved at all times. Sit Stay Fetch is an inexpensive PDF guide which can be bought on the web any time of day. While there are definitely many positives to hiring a professional dog trainer there are also some negatives. A local professional dog training expert is probably going to be far more costly when compared to purchasing an online dog training eBook. Another negative is that you are not really learning how to control your dog on your own, but you are instead relying on another person to change their behavior problems. On the other hand a pro dog trainer is going to be more skilled as a dog trainer than you are going to be able to be just by reading a guide. A pro dog training expert is simply going to be much better at dog training than you could ever hope to be through a little bit of self study! That being said, if you do want to go the "Do It Yourself" route I believe that SitStayFetch by Daniel Stevens is an excellent choice. It is a book that has worked for thousands of other people and it is satisfaction guaranteed (with a sixty day full money back refund available.) SitStayFetch was written in a very to follow way that lets you easily find out how to correct any particular issue you may be having with your pet including issues with aggressive behavior and potty training. This book is such a big seller is because it was written by a respected dog training expert named Daniel Stevens. Buying Sit Stay Fetch is actually a lot like having a pro teach you what you should be doing at every step. And I haven't even mentioned yet that it comes with a free audio version of the book.
