Herding Group Dog Breeds

The Herding Group is the newest AKC classification. The breeds of the herding group are called the “control freaks” of the dog world! They have the innate instinct and desire to control the movements of other animals regardless of the size; they are used most often to herd sheep and cattle. Sometime they even try to gently herd their own owners, especially the children of the family. They have the ability to work using both their owner’s command and their own judgment. This breed is often excelling in canine sports and obedience activities.
