The Labrador Retriever is a handsome, strong, and vigorous dog that is large in size. He has friendly eyes, expressing character, loyal, loving, affectionate and patient, making great family dogs.
The Lab has a broad head with a black or brown nose. His typical colors are black, yellow, or chocolate. He has brown or hazel eyes; and short, triangular drop ears. The otter tail is one of the most distinguishing characteristics of the Labrador Retriever.
Labradors are medium to large-size, muscular dog, with males typically weighing 29-41 kg (65-90 pounds) and females 25–32 kg (55–71 lb). Labs weighing close to or over 100 lbs are considered obese

You should be sure that you have lots of room for him to run, and plenty of space to keep him. He will need lots of exercise, and that you will have to work together as a family to keep him fit. They need to be taken on a daily, brisk, long walk, jog or run alongside you when you bicycle.

The Labrador retriever is a medium shedder, and can shed more heavily on a seasonal basis, so he is not the ideal choice for those with allergies. You will also need to step up the grooming at times of the year when he is shedding more heavily.
