Golden Retriever Appearance
The Golden Retriever is a medium-large sized, strong, flexible cheerful dog that enjoys participating in many activities. Nowhere else in the world you will find such a devoted canine or a dedicated companion, always having a lot of energy when it comes to doing anything with people.
The Golden Retriever is Athletic. It has a wide head with small drop ears, brown eyes, and black or brownish black nose. The double coat has a soft, dense undercoat and a broad, straight or wavy outer coat in various shades of gold. The coat is shortest at the head, ears, paws and front of legs.

The Golden Retriever is everybody’s friend, known for his devoted and obedient nature as a family companion, but is also used for a variety of work, including hunting, search, rescue and assistant for persons with disabilities. Adult Golden Retrievers love to work, and have a keen ability to focus on a given task. They will seemingly work until collapse, so care should be taken to avoid overworking them.
Golden Retrievers are friendly, reliable, trustworthy, and they are also noted for their intelligence. They are particularly valued for their high level of sociability towards people, they are also renowned for their patience with children, calmness, and willingness to learn. However, their trusting, gentle disposition makes them a poor guard dog.

Golden Retriever Care & Grooming
The Golden Retriever needs to be taken on a daily, brisk, long walk, train or run alongside you. They also like to retrieve balls and other toys. Be sure to exercise this dog well to avoid hyper activity, and to keep him in shape.
Golden Retrievers do not require an extraordinary amount of grooming. Weekly coat brushing is recommended and trimming hair between pads of the feet and around the ears once a month. This lowers the risks of encountering a matted coat, hot spots, and infected ears. Dry shampoo regularly, but bathe only when necessary.
