Boston Terrier Appearance
The Boston Terrier is a compact and well-muscled dog, with an elegant appearance and a kind expression. It retains many of the attributes of its bulldog ancestors but in a clean cut package. The body is short with a square appearance. The dark eyes are large, round and wide-set. The ears are small, erect and could either cropped or left natural. The tail is short and carried below. The neck is slightly arched. The dog conveys an impression of determination, power and action, with style of a high order; easy to carriage and graceful.
The Boston Terrier has a short and fine coat. The most common colors are brindle, seal, or black with white markings on muzzle, between eyes, and fore chest, and possibly white collar and lower legs. The weight of the Boston Terrier is around 10-25 pounds and the height is around 15-17 inches.

The Boston Terrier have strong and friendly personality. The intelligence and watchfulness are the Boston Terrier hallmarks. The breed is not difficult to train because they like to learn. The Boston Terrier is playful, self confident, very affectionate, likes to be part of the family and makes a good watchdog. They enjoy being around people, and, if properly socialized, get along well with children, and other dogs, cats and house pets. If not properly socialized may be reserved with strangers and bark a lot. They are fairly light weight and can be easily carried.

The Boston Terrier is a lively dog that loves to play. They are an ideal family dog but require a lot of time, attention and human contact. Their daily needs could be met with a romp in the yard or a short walk on leash. They are very sensitive to weather extremes, don’t tolerate heat well and cannot live outdoors. Boston Terriers are good for apartment life. They are relatively inactive indoors and will do okay without a yard if properly exercise. The Boston Terrier is very friendly, and not afraid to show it in public, they are known as "The American Gentleman,"

The Boston Terrier is a relatively healthy breed. There are not major concerns associated with them, although they can be prone to eye problems such as cataracts, cherry eye, dry eyes and glaucoma. They could also be prone to allergies, brachycephalic syndrome, patellar luxation, demodicosis, seizures, and deafness. They may also snore or drool.

The Boston Terrier doesn’t required to much grooming. You can simply brush his coat occasionally to keep it smooth and in good condition. Brush with a firm bristle brush, and dry shampoo occasionally. Bathe in mild soap only when necessary. Clean and check their ears regularly to avoid infections.
